Registration with Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC)

NMC is the body which governs the nurses and midwives in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. It is mandatory for any nurse to be registered with NMC to work within UK. So our nurse candidate should also be NMC registered and should speak good English.

A national of EEA with nurse training in EEA member states are eligible to apply through the “EU route of registration”.

A national of EEA with nurse training outside of EEA may be eligible to apply through EU route of registration but for this you are required to have practiced nursing for at least 3 years and should be able to provide appropriate evidence.

If you are a non-EEA candidate, then you should have registration in the country where you have trained and have at least 12 months post registration experience. In addition to this non-EEA applicants have to meet the NMC standard for English with an IELTS score of 7.0.
